Meet the Trainer

Hi there! I'm so glad you've made it to my site and wanted to learn more about me. ive been working with dogs and had my own business now for about 6-7 years. here's a little background on how i got started! As a young kid I always had a passion for animals, specifically dogs and horses. Growing up we had many animals, and as I got older I was able to pursue my passion with horses by taking horse back riding lessons and quickly fell in love with it.

I learned to ride both english and western, and even competed in cow sorting events with my own horse. During that time, I was employed at the farm where I learned how to ride, and continued to do so for a few years teaching kids riding lessons, caring for and training horses. When I turned 16, I was able to get my own dog, and got my favorite breed - a german shepherd. The dogs I had growing up were easy going, and didn't have any behavioral issues. I quickly fell in love with my new puppy, Shylah, but I soon realized she was a bit more (energy and personality wise) than I knew how to handle.

She was strong willed, couldn't sit still, and wouldn't listen unless I had a treat. If she objected to anything I needed her to do, she would respond by turning it into a game or using her teeth. I knew quickly that I needed to take her to get some form of training, as I knew the basics but her problems were growing beyond my knowledge at the time. I found a local dog trainer, went to all 10 sessions, and felt just as hopeless as when I first started.

I decided to do my own research on different training methods, styles, and dog behavior and found multiple trainers using a balanced training approach with great success. From there I went on to apply the techniques I had learned with Shylah, and saw great results immediately. She is now so much fun to have, can calmly hang out in the house, and is fully on and off leash trained.

I know many people around the world struggle with some of the same problems and even worse ones, so I decided to make my passion a career because I wanted to help those that felt defeated and hopeless with their dogs behavior and show them that there is hope! I have since interned and worked for The Calm K9 that was located in my area at the time, shadowed Lauren at Serenity K9 located in Georgia for five days, and attended Blake Rodriguez's Achieving Real World Obedience Seminar in Florida. after that, i have since opened my own dog training business, and have been doing that ever since! I aim to always expand my knowledge on dog behavior and different training methods from other trainers around the world to give my clients the best help and advice.
